Bach & Schubert
Renowned baroque conductor Nicholas McGegan returns to the Benaroya Hall stage to conduct a program featuring J.S. Bach's delightful Orchestral Suite No. 1 and Schubert's Fifth Symphony. Though Schubert was writing a full century after Bach, the baroque influence carries through. Schubert's Symphony No. 5 was strongly influenced by Mozart, who was in turn greatly influenced by Bach.
